GEELONG CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE

The Geelong Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCEC) will see the construction of:

  • 1,000 seat convention centre

  • Two large exhibition spaces

  • Meeting rooms, conference facilities and flexible event spaces.

  • 200 room Crowne Plaza Hotel and a Public Plaza

  • A mixed-use commercial development and food and beverage offerings. 

Once complete in 2026, the project aims to support 700 ongoing jobs along with the hotel further boosting employment opportunities and strengthening the region’s visitor economy.

FRANKSTON HOSPITAL

This massive redevelopment gives Peninsula Health the capacity to treat 35,000 more patients each year, and is delivering:

  • A new tower with 12 levels of clinical services and a new main entrance

  • 130 more beds

  • New spaces for mental health and oncology services

  • 15 new operating theatres – meaning more surgeries and shorter wait times for the local community.

  • New maternity, obstetrics and paediatric wards

  • A women’s clinic

  • A special care nursery

  • A refurbished and expanded emergency department

  • A new multi-deck carpark

RHODES CENTRAL HELIOSTAT

The Heliostat​  is the second of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, redirecting sunlight from the top of Rhodes Central, a 39 storey development in Sydney, Australia, down into the overshadowed Town Square.​The heliostat system, which sits atop one of the development’s two towers, is made up of 49 large, motorised mirrors that move to track the sun. The sunlight is bounced from these mirrors up to a system of reflectors that can be angled to direct the light down, addressing the issue of buildings overshadowing public spaces below and creating dark, gloomy spaces.

BUNJIL PLACE

Bunjil Place is an arts and entertainment facility operated by the City of Casey to bring the community together. There are many bookable spaces at Bunjil Place that range from meeting rooms for 4 people through to gala events for 400 people.  Some of its key features are below:

  • Fully serviced function centre - licenced up to 400

  • ​Public meeting room

  • Fully serviced studio event space - licenced up to 200

  • In house cafe​

NEW HORIZONS BUILDING

New Horizons is the platform for global research and teaching collaboration. It houses the advanced information technology and research equipment necessary to forge greater links between the industry and the broader research community. It accommodates a critical mass of academics, research fellows, researchers and PhD students needed to prosecute large-scale interdisciplinary research in the following themes:

  • Design tomorrows materials for energy conversion, storage and systems sustainability

  • Develop the next generation of computer aided virtual environments

  • Manufacture materials and processes for advanced manufacturing

  • Advance biomedical materials, devices and systems

MARGARET COURT REDEVELOPMENT

As part of the Victorian Government Redevelopments within the state, Melbourne Park underwent extensive redeployments and one of the main areas was Margaret Court. Some of the features of the redevelopment are:

  • A new retractable roof                                                   

  • Increased seating to 7,500                                               

  • Enlarged garden space

  • Upgraded bathrooms

  • Food & Beveridge amenities

  • New Media Centre

From a steel perspective, the project consisted of the following:

  • 1950 tonnes of steel                                                         

  • Over 5,100 individual steel members 

  • Over 4,000 individual cold form members

  • 20,000+ shop drawings incl shop details, marking plans, cleat sheets and purlins
